One standard, held without exception.
The Manor Standard is an independent directory of Utah's best luxury home contractors. It answers one question well: who can you actually trust with a major project on your home?
The problem with finding a great builder
Utah's luxury markets, from Park City to Holladay to Deer Valley, are full of talented contractors. They're also full of listings anyone can buy, reviews nobody checks, and lead-sellers who blast the same inquiry to a dozen firms at once. If you're about to spend six or seven figures on a pool, a landscape, or a custom home, that noise actively works against you.
We built The Manor Standard to fix that. You can't pay to rank here. We list a small number of firms in each trade and city, and every one of them passes the same review before we publish their profile. When a contractor shows up on this site, it tells you something real. That's the whole point.
How we vet
Inclusion is earned, never purchased. Four checks, applied to every firm.
Licensed & Insured
Active Utah licensing, bonding, and liability coverage, confirmed up front.
Portfolio Reviewed
Completed work examined for craftsmanship and finish at the luxury tier.
Client Verified
We call past clients ourselves. Real references decide it, not star ratings.
Reputation Held
Standing is reviewed continually; firms that slip are removed.
How we operate
Independent
Placement is not for sale. Listing fees keep the site running, but they don't buy a spot. A firm earns its place or it doesn't get one.
Restrained
Three excellent firms in a market beat thirty average ones. We keep the list short on purpose, and we'd rather leave a slot empty than fill it with a maybe.
Editorial
Everything here is written to help a homeowner make a big decision well. We're not chasing clicks or trying to close you.
About the directory
Who is behind The Manor Standard?
We're a small independent team focused on Utah's luxury home market. The directory isn't owned by any contractor or builder, which is what lets us keep the reviews honest.
How is this different from Houzz, Angi, or Google?
Those list almost anyone and rank by ads or volume. We do the opposite. We list only a few vetted firms per market, and no one can pay to rank higher.
How do you make money if listing is earned, not bought?
Listed firms pay a flat membership to be part of the directory. That fee keeps the site running, but it never affects who gets in or where they rank. Admission is decided by the review alone.
Do you take a cut of the projects?
No. We introduce homeowners to vetted firms and step back. There's no commission on the work and no markup on your project.
What makes a contractor good enough to list?
Proven luxury-tier work, proper licensing and insurance, references that check out, and a clean reputation in the market. If any of those are shaky, the firm doesn't make it on.
Can a listed firm lose its spot?
Yes. We keep checking after a firm is listed. If the quality or the reputation drops, we take the listing down.
Launching in 2026
We're vetting our founding group of Utah contractors now. If you're planning a project, or you run a firm that belongs on this list, now is the time to step in.
